Guy Cowan's life and career: a timeline

1884: Reginald Guy Cowan is born in East Liverpool, Ohio.

1902: Cowan enters the ceramics program at Alfred University in New York.

Fall 1908: After graduating and doing several apprenticeships, Cowan is hired to head the ceramics department at the newly opened East Technical High School in Cleveland. He also joins the faculty of Cleveland School of Art.
